Celebration of 150th Anniversary of Alexander Spendiarian in Kyiv

One of the largest public libraries of Kyiv “Svichado”, which is partnering with “AOKS-Ukraine”- the Association on Armenian cultural relations, hosted the Director of the AOKS Yelena Hovhannisyan and the Counsellor of the Armenian Embassy in Kyiv Nouneh Zastoukhova.

The meeting and event at the library were dedicated to the Armenian cultural heritage in general and to the 150th Anniversary of Alexander Spendiarian in particular. The great composer was born in Kakhovka, Kherson region.

Along with the music of renowned Armenian composers Spendiarian and Komitas, being performed throughout the commemoration event, the guests and directorate of the library exchanged their views and delivered speeches on the Armenian-Ukrainian cultural ties and heritage as well as on launching a special Armenian corner in the newly-renovated library.

Y.Hovhannissyan and N.Zastoukhova donated several books and catalogues on Armenian history and culture to the library.
